　　or the last five years, since the Canadian Electricity Association has been tracking Canadians’ sentiments on the subject, solar has remained the preferred fuel source for providing electricity for Canadians. Ontario’s plan for a “cap-and-trade” system to help cut greenhouse gas emissions has strong public backing, a new poll suggests.

　　Canada attracted 300 delegates from across Canada, the United States, Europe and China. Close to 40 percent of the delegates were first time attendees. Seven in 10 attendees were solar industry professionals and practitioners, and three in 10 were stakeholders, including government and utility officials. Solar Ontario 2016 conference delegates appreciated this year’s emphasis on high-level, forward thinking discussions.
