1. Job Purpose:
We are searching for an experienced and Shanghai-based technical support engineer to re-enforce our technical support team. The successful candidate can effectively train, build up and support our new and existing key account partners in China.
We foresee rapid growth for our products and services in China’s renewable energy market, and therefore seek a highly trained and experienced technical expert with an international mindset and willing to develop together with our newly founded Chinese subsidiary.
2. Reporting Line:
General Manager (China); Senior Manager Sales Engineering & Business Development
3. Key Responsibilities:
- Support customers during installation and operation via web-based or direct call centre service and occasionally on site.
- Provides installation and operation training to partners in all business channels.
- Train business partners (primarily EPC companies, investors, distributors, and system integrators) to provide 1st- and 2nd-level support; regularly brief them on technology and service updates, and monitor their customer service interaction with clients.
- Communicates frequently about fault resolution and exchange of technical product improvement ideas and proposals between our Mainland China office and our technical team headquartered in Germany.
- Contributes to the technical quoting process of major sales opportunities.
- Provide knowledge transfer as well as development and online or on-site execution of regular technical training seminars and programs.
- Foster development of new customer relationships through initial technical briefings to all relevant sales leads.
- Develop, revise, and update all region-related technical documentation contents, information, training materials, and collateral on regular basis.
- Track technological advancements; participate in educational opportunities; cultivate professional networks.
- Improve product sales opportunities by analysing and monitoring competitive products; recommend product improvements.
- Fully commit to utilising employer’s reporting and ticketing systems applied in the Chinese market.
- Foster teamwork, corporate behaviour and active communication.
4. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:
- Solid understanding, and minimum five years of proven customer support experience in China’s renewable energy markets (specifically solar PV sector).
- Graduated in electrical engineering, additional /post-graduate qualifications in renewable energies a plus.
- Working knowledge of and good data networking experience with wireless (WiFi, Mobile), wireline (DSL, Cable) and variety of network protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP, and HTTP).
- Excellent technical solutions and information analysis strengths.
- Native speaker in Mandarin (Chinese national); sufficient English language skills for direct communication with colleagues at German HQ.
- Self-motivated and hands-on IT / electrical power support expert who likes to work daily with customers as a key member of a sales and service oriented team of Solar PV professionals.
- Fascinated to learn more and grow within the new and fast growing solar PV technologies.
- Precise and comprehensive technical communicator.
- Team player with deep understanding of information analysis and technical support.
- Emphasising excellence, managing profitability, foster teamwork, managing processes.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills; highly energetic, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
- Occasional travelling across China a must (up to 30% of working time).
